im replacing a 55hp chrysler with a 1975 85 hp evinrude the chrysler would move my 16' tryhull 21 mph what should i expect out of this evinrude

you should see all the difference in the world, better hole shot, and maybe 30mph. get it set up correctly proper height, trim, and prop are the key.
