Motor Transom Wedges Question

I have a 1997 Nitro 700LX with a Mercury 75 hp on it. When taking off I must have the trim at 1/4 up or it just won't go. Will transom wedges help?

transom wedges just adjust the range that your trim moves or if you don't have trim/tilt they let you find in between spots for you set and forget manual trim.

Sounds like the prop pitch may be too high?, has this boat always had this problem or is it a resent development?
