Hi again everyone,

I have a 2000 50 hp (with a piranha prop) on a 16 foot Key Largo, I was running it yesterday and the day started off with the seas prety rough. While accelerating the the boat it would rev up (I almost thought it was a bad hub on the prop but I don't think piranha props have hubs ) but would not accelerate. As the day went on (and I caught my 6 lobsters) the seas flattened out and the boat ran without a problem. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Thanks and have a great day.

Regards

Harry

OK, so I asked some of my friends about the problem and one of them came up with cavitation. After reading about it, the symptoms sound like that could be my issue. I know I shouldn't run my boat in 3 foots seas, but it is so fun, and the lobsters are not going to come to me.

I think your friends are correct. And it's actually ventilation.
