I have a johnson 150 V6. i took it out to the river a couple of days ago but it never would start. all that it would do was spin the starter and the bendix assembly. the starter drive would not move up to engage and spin the flywheel. so I found out that the bendix was bad and bought a new one. when it was put back together it did the same thing. then i put jumper cables on it and it fired right up. now it is back with the same problem. the bendix is still good so i am thinking that battery is too weak to spin the bendix fast enough to engage the starter drive. or i just have a bad connection somewhere that is not allowing enough juice to the starter.
