motor won't stay running

I have a 1972 Gamefisher, model 217.58880 7.5 hp I just bought, starts but won't stay running, has fuel coming out little hole in carb, would it need a carb kit? Please help. Seems to be a good motor, good compression and spark.

yes completely rebuild the carb....87 ethanol pump gas is your best cleaner/soak for the buck and you need compressed air, get the tecumseh carb manual... I have the carb manual would be glad to e-mail it to you, www.certifiedpartscorp.com is you best source and best deal or Eskamn2008 from ebay has complete kits.
