Motor Year & HP...Boat?

Be gentle...i'm new to this...I just bought a used boat and motor...1991 aluminum Fisher Hawk 3v bass boat (says it on the side) and Mercury 40 hp... I'm trying to figure somethings out...the S/N on the motor is 0D041539...can someone tell me the year and HP based upon that S/N? Second question, I have looked all over the boat for a information plate...can't find one...i'm trying to locate an owners manual for this model...also trying to verify its year...can anyone help me out on this?

The engine is a 1992 andnthe boat should have a ID tag on the starboard rear corner out side. the year is the last part of the number.

thanks Laddies...where did you find the motor info?

i did look at the starboard side...outside and in...nothing there...any other suggestions?

The engine info came from a Mercury build sheet, as far as the boat any boat built after 1973 is supposed to have a serial number and ID plate on the starboard rear corner. Wonder where yours went ans why?

thanks...i don't know where the boat ID plate went to either...can't even locate a place where it might of been...assuming the boat has been repainted...it will remain a mystery.
