Motor year?

I have a 75 hp Evinrude, but can't determine the model year so I can buy a manual. Because the information on the transom mount is indistinct, I found the the core plug with some numbers - and they do jibe with the transom info as far as I can tell.

Anyway, the information on the core plug is: G2316737
the info on the transom, (as best I can determine):Model : 67OTLOEM
the serial number on transom is...................................Q O2316737

I have enclosed a picture of motor and plug if it helps you help me. The last digit on the disc is unclear in the photo but is a "7".

Re: Motor year?

Double check that model number. It doesn't make sense. Are you sure its a 75hp? The "70" in the model number might suggest its a 70hp.

Re: Motor year?

most johnson have part #'s on most of their parts. List a few and maybe we can find an approx. year. Those #'s you listed don't show up on the johnson data base.

Re: Motor year?

First, I forgot to say thanks in advance in my first post, so thanks now and in advance.

I did recheck the model numbers in a less bright Florida sun and have corrected them.

Model: E70TLCEM
Serial: G0931673

The only part that I can name & has a number is the cylinder head:#329835-1, and there is a sticker on the air intake (?) stating the the timing is 19 BTC

I only call it a 75 hp because that is what is on the engine cover. I bought it from what might be called an outboard graveyard here in SW FL and they may have mixed parts. If it turns out to be a 70 hp, its OK with me, since I'm pushing a 15" boat with this motor.

Thanks again.
