I was out on the lake lst week and never had an issue with my trolling motor. But on Sunday I went back out and nothing. I checked everything that I know to check but have found nothing: breakers, connections, wires, batteries... I even went as far as to replace the speed switch with a new one, with no luck. What else can I do, short of buying a new one

The only thing I can say, is that I went through some really rough water on my way back to the ramp.

You say you checked everything? How did you prove the CB was good? Do you have voltage at the trolling motor connector? A test light is all you need. Start with the battery cables (clean and tight). Measure voltage at the motor side of the circuit breaker. 12V ok. 0V not ok. 12V at socket = ok. 0V not ok. Check between socket and breaker. Plug on motor ok? If you have a battery charger connect it to the motor plug and see if it at least tries to run. If it does, back to the wiring as you missed something. If the prop turns hard by hand the bearings may have tightened up and the motor or speed coils burned up (if it has them).

Re: Motorguide brute 550 does not work

I found that my problem is somewhere in the cables going from the battery to the trolling motor. Cause I ran some cables directly to the trolling motor and it worked just fine. So I will be trouble shooting these cables this weekend.
There are push button breakers on each of the positive cables running to the trolling motor. I doubt that both would have gone bad at once, but I will certainty look at your t=recommendations on going step by step on checking the voltage.
