Motorguide Brute 756 with 12/24 switch

Hi I just purchased this trolling motor and need help with hooking it up I have no paper work with it. It has three wires Red, White, Black There is a 12/24 switch on the pedal, can this be run off one 12 volt battery on the 12 volt switch or do I need to buy another battery. How do I hook it up either way for 12 volt or 24 volt operation. thanks for any help. Bob

It really doesn't matter which wire, red or the white, that you connect the + 12volts to. Motorguides standard wiring, to keep the switch decal correct, would be white +12v, red +24v.
