I have an older Brute 750 41#, 12/24, bow mount, foot control. It only has the 12/24 switch on the base and the momentary switch on pedal, is there any way to wire in a switch for both constant and momentary use?

Yes -- wire a heavy duty ON-OFF switch across the existing momentary switch. With the added switch in the OFF position, the current switch works as it always had (momentary). If you put the added switch in the ON position the motor runs constantly at whatever speed you have selected. The new switch will need to have a current rating of about 20 - 30 amps at 12V so it needs to be fairly substantial to handle the current.

Thanks I'll start looking for the switch, of course the next problem will be figuring out how to get foot control apart to wire it in.

Silvertip, I tried a 30 amp switch and it would not open the circuit, had a toggle switch laying around (not sure the amp rating) that worked fine. Not sure if I want to try a 20 amp or 15. Would prefer a rocker over a toggle though.

Re: motorguide brute switch help

I wired one into my 65# 12/24 Brute. As Silver said wire in parallel (across) the momentary switch. I was able to modify mine without having to dismantle the whole thing.

I drilled a hole on the rear of the foot rest on the left side and used a 20 amp SPST toggle. It is very convient and easy to hit it with my foot when I want to change to continuous or intermittent running.
