Motorguide Cuts out ??

Hello all, I have a 2003 82lb thrust 24 volt tiller motorguide. THe issue I have is I was loosing power as we would troll. I was told it was more than likely the mother board. Well this troller doesn't have a "mother board" but has a module assembly. I replaced it and there is still a problem. It still seems to loose power and occasionally it will just cut out. If I let it sit for a few seconds and unplug then replug it it comes back to life, sometimes for a couple seconds sometimes for a long time. I have recently replaced the circuit breaker to a 60 amp manual reset type and that never trips. Now when I was replacing the module, I noticed that there are two relay looking boxes on the brush card, could that be where the problem is? I don't want to just be replacing parts till it works, and there really isnt much in them that could electronically go bad. Please help, I need this running good this weekend, I have a tournament and don't want to be loosing time messing with the troller. Thanks

Without doing some actual testing whatever you do is "shotgunning" the problem and hoping you hit it. You cannot fix a motor that is not broken so you need to have a multi-tester handy and actually know how to use it. When the motor quits, see if you have voltage before the breaker, after the breaker, at the motor. If you do, you know the problem is inside the motor. If not, the problem is before the motor.

Thatis what I did that lead me to the problem, I tested the motor when the problem happened, there was more than enough power at the plug of the troller when it cut out. I contiuosly hear about motherboards going out that act the same way, so that is why we went and replaced that first, plus I really didn't see anything else that could cause a problem. After replacing the module, I noticed the relay looking parts on the brush card and didn't think anything about them until the problem showed back up after changing the module. What are they for? Does anyone know, could these be the problem?
