Didn't get any replies to my other post so thought I'd just ask about the trolling motor on the 1991 Playcraft pontoon I am refurbishing. I am working on the trolling motor and it seems to make no sense to me as to what was on the boat. It had two batteries, but both were junk and not even hooked up, so I don't know how they were wired. I removed everything to redeck and carpet including the hookup for the bow mount trolling motor. It is as cited in the title that has a foot control that plugs into a receptacle mounted on the corner of the deck. The trolling more has only a black and red wire with the third prong not having any wire on it at all. It plugs into a receptacle that has three wires, a red, black and an orange wire. These go to a block mounted on the deck in which the wiring from the batteries also connect to. There are two black wires a red and an orange wire coming from the battery end and into the block. There is also what appears to be either a switch that is broken off or a charging port next to the motor plug in. I have no idea of what this is, but it is marked 2-12 V, 12 volt and 24 volt. It has a jumper on the top two terminals but no other wires were connected that I remember. I cannot figure out how this trolling motor which is a 12 volt can have this on the plug in manifold that shows 2-12 volt, 12 volt and 24 volt. Of course this is an OLD pontoon that could very well have had the trolling motor replaced but the years seem to all be of the same time period and the guy I bought it from said he got it from his dad who bought it new. I'm attaching some pictures to show what I am speaking of. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated as I would like to return it to it's original state.
