MotorGuide Quality: Poor

Just wanted to share an experience I had with a MotorGuide Wireless Series 24v 75LB Thrust Trolling Motor which I had payed close to $1000 for just over 3 years ago.

Late last year my motor stopped turning left and right. I called the warranty service closest to me (2 hour drive) and they claimed the motor had a 2 year warranty and mine was out of warranty by less than a year. Winter passed and come spring I realize the motor wont do anything other than beep when plugged in. I called motorguide and they claimed it was a 3 year warranty and I am 2 months out of the warranty date so I am out of luck! I take apart the foot pedal and the electrical components are rusted out. I am not sure how this happened though as it was never dropped in water and was suppose to be waterproof. Thinking this is surely my problem i ordered a replacement hand-held controller through ebay. The motorguide trolling motor will not recognize this new controller.

Your quality gets an F in my book. At least two separate components failed on my Wireless Series Trolling Motor which is well under 4 years old.
