I have a 2001 Motorguide T34 which has no high speed in forward, I changed the switch, same part number as the original after I had no reverse, now I have no high? If I put the old switch in I have 5 forward, but no reverse, with the new switch, I only have 4 forward speeds, I even tried a second new switch.
The motor runs fine in either direction if I direct power the main leads.
It don't have many hours of use, the original switch had obvious overheat damage to the positive battery lead to the motor.
Any ideas?
Anyone have an internal wiring diagram for one of these?
What is the function of the two lighter gauge wires? (Yellow, terninal 3, and Blue terminal 2)?
The switch p/n is KT150-02 (now 87-MKT15002T). All wires are hooked up as they were. the motor runs quiet and smooth with no signs of any wires getting hot in any speed. When you switch to the highest forward speed there is no voltage to the motor.
it looks to me like a bad switch, but what are the chances of two bad new switches? One switch was a new part from Mercury Marine, the other was new old stock still in the old packaging. Both new switches and the original are marked the same with only the date code being different.
If I had a wiring diagram that showed the switch function I could maybe trace the problem?
