Okay, I just bought this used trolling motor and want to know more about it but Google just takes me to places that DOES NOT really say much about this model.

Can anyone assist with pointing me in the right direction of where to find say an instruction manual or the like for this one?

Heck, I do not even know what year it was made or model number...

It looks like it came out of a Bass Boat and has a three-prong plug which I will either need to replace OR buy a receptacle that I can wire to my 14' Smoker Craft Jon Boat for. Any suggestions out there as I am a REAL newbie (go figure) and appreciate any and all input. :D

Thanks in advance!

Re: MotorGuide Tracker 28 Pro Series - Questions!

Try MotorGuide (they made the motor) and Tracker Boats (they built the boat and installed the motor made by MotorGuide but with the Tracker name on it.). Look carefully at every inch of the motor head, shaft, and lower unit. There will be a model/serial number on it somewhere (unless it has been removed).

Look at the cable coming from the head to the trolling motor plug. You said it has three terminals on the plug, but are there actually three wires in the cable. If so, you have a 24 volt motor that needs two 12 volt batteries for operation. If that's the case, there is likely a 12/24 switch on the foot pedal or controls that lets you select operation on either 12 volts (one battery) or 24 volts (two batteries in series). Some folks simply wire a three prong plug on a two wire (12 volt) motor because the receptacle in the boat has a three prong. If the motor only has two wires, one terminal on the plug is not used.
