Picked up a pinpoint 3700 with all the goodies ,except the mount.Funny thing is ....I cant find any info on it.Its a pinpoint tdp 3700.I searched google and found out that motorguide bought out pinpoint but thats it.The only item that didnt come with the motor was the mount.Bass pro salesmen instructed me that ya cant buy just a mount.I find that extremely hard to beleive. What happens if ya break one?I bought this unit from a regular at the local flee market for 20 bucks so I dont mind spending the extra cash on the mount. So do i just eat the 20 er can i buy just a mount?

ps this isnt my first post but ive had so many login issues with other names that i gave up and created this one.Lets see how many times i can log into this one.Im a fishing fanatic , not a computer wiz.

Re: mount for a pinpoint

Go to the Motorguide web page and check out the service centers. There are only 3 of them in the US that work on Pinpoints and they may have a mount. I would check that TM out thoroughly before investing any money in it. I use to have one and after the 3rd time I sent it in for repairs, I got rid of it.

Re: mount for a pinpoint

Ive read alot of good about these and everything seems to work....everythings iced over right now but thought about testing it in the bathtub to see if the depth finder and the rest of the goodies work. The wife freaked out when she seen me carrien the batteries into the bathroom, she caught me on the second one.Yelled something about where id find that motor if i tried to run it in the new tub i just put in.Told her the jets in the tub would give me a more realistic test.......she didnt see the wisdom behind that statement. Any other way to test other than checking to make sure it runs and steers?

2fat2 - I am in a very similar situation and also am looking for a mount. If you found one and can help a fella out, I will appreciate it. - Or - I will end up getting rid of mine. -thanks- Mike

Try Twin City Outboards. They are a marine salvage yard in Shakopee, MN.
