Mounting a kicker on a 21WA Polar

I just bought a 2005 21WA Polar from a dealer, and had them mount a kicker bracket for a 9.9 Yamaha. The transom is curved at the back, and they shimmed out the kicker bracket to get it flat across the back. I have noticed that the rub rail has come loose, and that the fiberglass section where they mounted the bracket, the fiberglass isn't very thick in that area. So now, we need to reinforce the transom on the inside.

Has any one with a Polar ever added a kicker on your boat? Any other ideas? If I can't get it reinforced, I'll have to take it off, and patch the holes.

I'm not quite following this. The transom should be a couple inches thick everywhere, no? Granted, you need to use backing plates or fender washers where the bolts come through to the inside, but I can't figure why the transom itself would need reinforcement.

I mounted a 15 hp kicker on the transom of my old 21' Pro-Line WA and had no issue with transom thickness or strength.

I think "old" is the key. I think with the newer boats with getting RID of wood etc. The rounded
Transoms, etc it's not very thick across the whole transom. I wish the marina who installed the bracket
Would of stopped when they noticed the transom wasn't thick in that area.

I think I'm hosed on this one. I did a Google search and I saw other posts about transoms cracking with kicker mounts. I guess boat builders don't think people who but fishing boats will want kickers.
