I just bought me a GPSMAP 76s, second. It came with a marine mount. How do I mount this on to of my CC. It is a fiberglass boat. Do you drill and screw it down like you would do with a wooden surface? Is there anything special that you would do? I know that I need to get stainless steel screws.

You can buy stainless screws (316) at Lowe's, so that's not a problem. Make sure you drill the correct sized pilot hole first, very import with drilling into glass. Here is the simple trick to getting the right size for that. Take your drill index and the screw you intend use use. Remove a drill bit that is the smallest one that the screw will fit into the hole the bit came out of - then move back down two sizes and use that one as the pilot bit.

Thom

Re: Mounting Garmin 76

Thank you for the info. I don't want to drill holes on my dash either. But the marine mount that I have has three holes on it. I assume that you put three screws though it. Is there any type of adhesive that I can buy for this. I don't want to use any thing that is permanent like epoxy. But I don't want anything that would come off after a few bounces.
