mounting motor

i have a boat with a new transom and need to drill holes for the motor to mount.the problem is the motor is a 2 hour drive from the boat (friend has a great shop letting me use).i cant seem to find specs for spacing the holes was wondering if anyone knew.can always make a template off the motor itself but its kind of a logistical nightmare.<br /><br />thanks
