Pro: Its not causing issues with the transom or kicking up a rooster tail from hell due to not being mounted right.
Con: No depth indication while on plane.
Note: if its mounted wrong on the transom (or thru hull) then you don't get any good depth info on plane anyway
some people put one on the troller and one on the transom.
