Mounting on engine stand - should I remove flywheel first?

I've lifted the Ford 302 out of my boat and plan to attach it to an engine stand. The engine is seized from sitting too long. I've experience working on motorcycle engines, but this is my first larger sized one. Should I pull the flywheel off the engine before mounting it on the stand? I can always take it off the stand later, but if it needs to be done, I might as well do it now. Thanks!

Most engine stands will allow you to leave the flywheel installed.
With it installed, you can use a flywheel tool to 'turn' the rotating assembly, after you get it freed up. Or, trying to break it loose. Of course, as you said, you can remove it later, during engine disassembly/repair.
