what sealant do people recommend for sealing the bolt holes on my transom where my outboard hangs

3M 5200 sealant. You can get it at most places. Hopefully where your at, too. If not, ask what a dealer uses in your neck of the woods.

i need some info on mounting an outboard motor.how do i determine the right height for the motor?i have a 17'5 g3 aluminum with a 75 h.p. 4 stroke yamaha and i can only het it to 3/4 full plane and about 6oo r.p.m. shy of full range before it starts porpoising. any ideas? thanks for any help,john

As for the right height, the cavitation plate should be even,+- 1", with the bottom of the hull at the stern.

in your opinion ,being to high or to low,would this cause my porpoising problem or am i going to have to put trim tabs on? thanks a lot for the help,greatly appreciated! john
