I currently have a 1990 40 hp 2 stroke outboard that I will be replacing with a 2001 50 hp 2 stroke (3 cylinder) .... are the mounting plates for these two motors different? If so what do I do with the old holes? I have a lowe 160 with a metal transom

thanks
Bruce

it is best to use 3M 5200, and wooden dowels to fill the holes. the use Marine Tex over it inside and out.
