I need to screw down my back to back seats. My plan is:
1. Drill holes smaller than the screw size ( 1/2 in wood screw)
2. Use 4200 on the theads and screw it down.
aye m8..dry fit your seats..drill holes ( only with small 1/8 drill size and only when it breaks through and mark how thick the glass is )
poke a toothpick down all your holes to make sure you wont screw into the bottom or a tank or what-not..measure that ..then drill out your pilot holes constant with your screws..buy stainless screws .. ( prob. # 10-12..mebbe 14 ? )
4200 around the base screw holes..4200 screw tips as you describes and bingo bango
Be careful! I felt like a real nutbar when my friend pointed out the four screws poking out the bottom of my Thundercraft. I used them to secure the outside brackets on the seats. And this was after we had been to the lake with it! Needless to say I had a little more water than usual under the floor when I took the plug out.
Another method is to drill holes oversize, then fill with thickend resin. Then, redrill the proper size. You won't need to do any sealing since there's no wood exposed.
