Move boat back on trailer

94 hurricane fundeck 22 ft. Trailer is a older duals axle shoreland'r. After playing around with it I finally got the boat to sit properly on the winch rest and the hull rest on the frame. Now the boat sits with the last set of rollers past the transom and those rollers are acting like a guard to keep it rolling off, if that makes any sense. So I tried to move the winch post back 4" (which would "in theory" would move the boat back as well). To my surprise and frustration, it still sits in the same position. This particular trailer does not have an option to move the rollers front to back other than moving the axles. As for trailering performance, its great. Very little side to side movement, unless I'm going over 75 on the highway. So my question to the panel is do I let it be, or try to adjust it again? And if so, what should I do? I'll hang up and listen. Thank you.

I haven't taken it to the scale and gotten an official measurement yet. Based on "feel" it's pulling good and not swaying.

Step 1, get the boat sitting on the trailer correctly - in this case with all the rollers under the boat.

Step 2, move the axle(s) as required to establish desired tongue weight.

There's really no shortcuts available....

That's the question I'm asking.. How to move it back. I moved the winch post back 4 inches thinking that would move it back far enough to get on the roller. So keep moving it back until it's correct?

Ayuh,...... Get the boat sittin' on the rollers, 'n then move the winch to the boat,.....

Then move the axles to put 10% to 15% of the weight on the hitch,.....

Tie the back of the boat to a big tree, truck in low, go slow and pray a bit.... If you go a tad too far winch in to desired spot and then move winch to boat.

Been there, done that. Next time you use the boat, when you put it back on the trailer don't crank it up all the way. Put on the safety chain and drive into the parking lot. Then crank it up till its where you want it. Then move the winch stand to the boat.

Easy peasy. I can just envision the tree cracking off and landing on the boat....:)
