ok so....................

I have the lift in my backyard. I plan to put it on the empty boat trailer, drive across the bridge to the nearest ramp, remove lift from trailer.

Then what? What do you guys use/do to move your boat lift across/through/around the lake/river?

pics would be great.

Aluminum lift? Get some (4 truck size ) innertubes and attach them to the lift. It is slow moving but you will not sink it. Once you are close to position you drain each tube until you are certain of the bottom where you set it up.

yes its aluminum sorry forgot to mention that.

so floating it across with 4 truck tire tubes, will be ok? 1 under each leg I presume?

i mean it will be going across maybe 200 yds of open water, avg depth of 14ft.

Makes me nervous just thinking of one of those things pop, and it loses support on the side and takes a plunge :(

so just tie it to the boat and drag it across at idle?

Re: moving a boat lift?

You just attach the tubes to all 4 corners..... as long as it's stable.......

Try to attch the tubes so the ramp is partially underwater.... not on the bottom. You have to balance the weight and I would almost be along side if possible to control it.

Nice...that'll work, I do heavy Marine Construction...Commercial Bulkheading..Docks ect..so if need be i'll lend you my 38' Dredge/Barge and we'll move it just fine..Although im sure the innertube option is a tad cheaper:D
That's a great idea.
