Anybody ever put a CD containing MP3 files into a DVD player (panasonic SA DP1 in my case) to find that each single MP3 file is split into 2 or 3 smaller files (or at least appears to be as there are not any additional files being created, it just reads that way), ie number of files = 3 x number of tracks ( Im refering to a track being one song etc).

Very annoying as the sound is stopped momentarily during each song while bridging across tracks.

I note also when the same files are played on the PC or portable MP3 player there is no problem... ie files are not being split, number of files = number of tracks.

thanks

dm

Re: MP3 problem

That's very strange. I've never tried the mp3 part of my dvd player, Had an Iwia mp3 player in my truck a couple years ago, took forever for that thing to read a full cd full.

..Does it repeat, or just skip in the middle?

Have you tried this with small mp3's, say under 1 meg or minute?

Re: MP3 problem

Its left me scatching my head a bit as well, What happens is, say an MP3 is 3 mins long, it will create 3 files about 1 min each, When played each consecutive file picks up where the last one left off, seamless except for a fraction of silence, and the hole track is played ok. But like I mentioned earlier it doesnt create new files it just appears to, so the menu would look something like this...

1. Track 1
2. Track 1
3. Track 1
4. Track 2
5. Track 2
6. Track 2
7. Track 3 .... etc etc

instead of

1. Track 1
2. Track 2 ...etc

might try some alternative software to rip the tracks.

cheers
dm
