Has anyone used the Mr. Funnel? They cost around $20 and have them in different sizes. They claim it can remove water, dirt, grime, dust, any small particles that come through gasoline from gas pumps, or even 5 gallon jugs we have stored for use in lawnmowers, boats, weedeaters etc...

I think with the issues of ethanol at gas pumps these days, I would be curious to see how effective these things are, especially with moisture or water in fuel.

Re: Mr. Funnel

I bought a "Filter Funnel" from West Marine last fall. "Mr. Funnel" sounds like a similar product. From my experience it works as described, but the screen does slow down the flow significantly. If I were to buy it again, I'd get the extra large size instead of the large. In addition, when finished fueling, the funnel doesn't self-drain- leaving an ounce or 2 of fuel in the funnel. I keep a small bucket to dump it into. That gas goes into the lawnmower...
One other thing- after putting 100 gallons of premium thru it, my Filter Funnel didn't trap ANYTHING. I assume it means my marina has good pre-filters- or the funnel doesn't work!
Seriously, I think they are a good defense for cruising boaters who often buy gas at unfamiliar marinas.

Re: Mr. Funnel

install a fuel/water separating filter, and enjoy the boat.
