Ok. this is what I have. A Muler Climatrol Boiler for Hot water radiator heat system. Model 11W9 Serial# 8LK Yep its old: my guess is in the late 30 or 40's Thing has been amazing over the years :)but it finally started leaking water last month :facepalm:and I can"t find anybody down here to even come look at it. Would love to find a replacement Boiler to take its place instead of instaling Central heat and Air. Here is my question does anyone in Ms., Ar.,La.,area know anyone who still works on these things. I Did the internet thing and seems like everybody that works on them are up north. House has a basement where boiler is located and that in itself is highly unusual in the Ms. Delta. Plus new one weight up to 600 lbs. and not real sure I get get a new one down the basement stairs with a 32 in door. Would not even be able to get the old one out that opening. Any of you HVAC guys got any ideas. Installed a couple of infared heaters to get through cold spell. We really like this hot water heating system and would like to bing it up the 21 century. Thanks for you thoughts.

Re: Muller Climatrol Boiler Help Needed

Those old Mueller units were beasts! I've got a Mueller furnace in one of my houses that's 60 years old. Still works great.
Radiant boilers nowadays are very compact, most don't utilize makeup tanks anymore. I have a Raypac boiler for my radiant floor heat in my house that measures 18"X26"X30"H. It heats a two story 2700 ft house in 8 zones. I bet it doesn't weigh 100 lbs dry. (I would NOT reccomend a Raypac however...) The boilers aen't cheap and you still need the circ pump, a pressure expansion tank, air relief valve, makeup valve, automatic damper vent and a digital type thermostat. But, you'll have clean, dry heat and won't be ripping your house apart installing duct work for a conventional system. Sounds like you'll be cutting up the Mueller to get it out of there... no fun.
