Muskrats chewed wires!

The little buggers chewed through about half of all of my wires about 18 inches up from where they enter under the cowell.

I'm sure I'll have to fix them one by one (looks like about 20 total). They appear to fairly well color coded so the identification should not be too much of an issue. Question is what is best to use to repair them: butt connectors, solder, tape, etc. Thanks

It's best to replace the harness. Otherwise there are heat-shrink crimp butt connectors. Tin the wires ends, crimp and shrink. You'll need red ones and blue ones.

There are also heat shrink connectors with a ring of low temp solder in the middle, but I prefer the crimp kind.

I agree with willy ..... I had the same prob years ago with a little suzuki 6hp that was lying on it's side in my garage for a couple of years, mice made their nest inside the motor, and messed up all the wiring etc. luckily a dt6 don't have as much wiring as a 200 yummy but what a mission it was to get the buggers out and to fix the motor back up again ...... good luck, my thoughts are with you :) .....
