MW Apollo 3-blade redesign?

As I continue to reflect on what prop to go to to solve my performance problems (see the "Getting closer" post for the details), I'm leaning towards the MW Apollo because:
1) while I don't get the impression it's might be *the* best performing for my setup, it's close enough to the reputable Stiletto to be all that I could hope for.
2) I can get the Apollo for no out of pocket money (only once).

I'm being informed that it's basically a crap shoot if the 13 1/8 x 19 or the 13 x 21 will be right for my boat/engine combo. As close as I'm going to get is to just try one or the other first and accept that I have a 50/50 shot of getting it right.

However, I just found that the source for that Apollo 13 1/8 x 19 is backordered and no more coming in. He said typically when they see this note for such a popular item from Mighigan Wheel it's because they intend a redesign, not an outright cancel.

Can anyone in the biz confirm such? Would you think MW would actually tell me this? I've typically found companies refuse to divulge such info out of consideration for distributers who might be stuck with old stock in favor of customers waiting for the redesigned model.

Dang, just when I'm confident enough to finally make the jump, I find a possible snag. I can exchange but not return so not having an available prop to exchange for leaves me at an expensive dead end. :(

Thanks,
Andy

Re: MW Apollo 3-blade redesign?

They answered the question, they're on back order until the end of December at the earliest. So much for "expecting the worst".

Going over old posts, I see Rancherlee's parents run a 14 x21 on the same hull and a DF115. They make it up to 5800 rpm wot and at an elevation I can only assume is the same as Rancher himself (MN).

With theirs running like that, I question if me going down to a 13 x 21 might it make up the rpms at my boating elevations of 3000 to 5000 feet.

Rancher, if you read this, is their prop alum and are they in MN?

Thanks,
Andy
