Hi Folks.

I'm new to the site. Here is a picture of my 1971 Starcraft V160 I/O. It has a 165 Mercruiser. Purchased it last year. I believe am am the third owner. Just curious if anyone knows what the weight of this boat would be. I'm searching for a new trailer and it would be nice to know the weight.

Wow that thing looks to be in AMAZING condition. And it should HAUL with that 6 cyl in a 16'. I don't know what it weighs but would guess somewhere in the 2k range.

Yea. It has lots of get up & go. I was thinking between 1500 & 2000 lbs myself. Got lucky finding it on Kijiji last year. The guy I bought it from previously owned a 22' cuddy but sold it because he wanted something smaller to trailer. He used it one year and realized it was too small for him. He said he purchased it on Kijiji from a charitable organization called "Teen Ranch" in London Ontario . The story is the original owner passed away and his wife donated it to the Teen Ranch who in turn sold it to raise money for their organization. It would be nice to have a little more history on it. The dealer tag on the dash shows the selling dealer as "North York Marine" in Toronto. I don't think they are around anymore.

Thanks. Gotta replace the exhaust bellows this spring. I also had problems going into reverse while trying to load it back on the trailer. Got a grinding / ratcheting noise. From what I've read on other posts it sounds like it could be a lower shift cable adjustment. Any thoughts on that? I'm hoping not to find any metal shavings in the gear case oil when I change it this spring. Got any pics of your boat?
