Hello everyone, I own a 1995 17ft scout that that purchased a couple of years ago. i noticed on the bottom of the boat while i was doing some trailor maint, quite a bit of blistering in the jellcoat. I know i will have to address this problem sooner or later but i just am not sure how to. can i sand out the blisters and use marine tex, or will glass work have to be done and the boat jellcoated. Thanks for any input on this problem.

Re: my boat is blistering, please help..............

Currently: Is this a trailered boat?

History: Did the previous owner keep it wet slipped, but not paint/protect the bottom (if you know).

I guess I would want to know these things, so I could expect how much more gel coat is going to a problem. Also, what is 'quite a bit' of blistering on the gel? How many? Curious...

Check out the restoration threads. I've seen threads in there addressing the blistering problems. Someone will probably be able to post a link to some of them for you. Good luck scout, hope you get it figured out.
