Its finish.You could try sanding it lightly and spray paint it with clear coat paint.

-phyre90, Did you ever find a way to restore your finish? I was looking to buy a boat with a similiar metal flake finish and was curious how to restore.

From what I've heard, once the flakes are showing through, its hard to save the metal flake finish. Mine is sooooooo close. I think there may be spots where the flakes are showing through, but I'm still hopeful.<br /><br />I'd like to see some pro responses to this one.

I read in another post that if the flakes aren't falling out and the surface is just rough to the touch it can be polished out using a compound. I will see if I can find that thread and post a link.

-TR918. No, I didn't find a way to restore the finish. The flakes will come off just by rubbing your hand across the paint. So will most likely have repaint it, after I put in the floor. Thanks for all the replys.
