nothing dangerous. Can anyone please tell me if there is a manual release on the trim and tilt on a '93-ish Yamaha 150? My brother and I would appreciate it. Me especially. I'm not looking forward to towing that sled in today.

It should be marked on one of the clamp brackets holding the motor on the boat. He'll need a large screwdriver. I believe it's on the stbd side an inch or two up. He'll need a friend or two help lift it.

Thanks Willy! Sounds like my Evinrude. I knew there had to be a way. Is that trim and tilt motor like my evinrude? relays under the engine cover, two wires to motor, one up, one down, with a ground?

I believe it's the same dang unit with Yamaha's wiring and relays. If not, its a dead-ringer copy. At the Yamaha seminar they said they use the same Singer trim unit (yes, the sewing machine folks). It would depend on the years of both.

It sure looks like it! I went out yesterday afternoon and tried to get the motor down so he could drive it back to the ramp. Well, the manual release was buggered so bad that a screwdriver blade wouldn't stay in the slot. It appears that all the relays and wiring are OK as I could hear the trim motor running when the switch was activated, the tilt ram just would not move. I ended up towing him in.
