my control box just attacked me. twice!

well, i've been dealing with an overheat problem that I think is now under control, and now this. I decided to replace my shift and throttle cables while i had the tools out. i got it all back together and fired it up on the hose.2 seperate times while grabbing the throttle lever, i got a jolt of electricity that kinda caught me off guard.
has anyone heard of anything like this? after those 2 times, all is well. I cant see anything i disturbed in the control box...

Oh yeah !...you musta' nicked a wire and it's grounding out on the box...we have a commercial crabber whose winding mechanism(to pull his traps)shocks him every trap every day...no wonder he has that crazy hair !

I have twicwe seen key switches short and send + feed thru control box. I figure it was a moisture problem, but it sure wakes you up.

better off changing out that ignition switch bud. Cause you dont wanna be stuck out on the water with no way to start that motor.

i havent had the control handle get me but i think i know what is going on .my box has a plug for a tack if i grab it with wet hands it will bite really hard you may have pinched the wire for the tack hook up and it is shorting out to the control box it does have a good bit to it open your box again and look for a pinched wire
