I have an 89 force 50 hp , well I took the cowling off and much to my suprise all the foam on the top of the cowling had come off and fell down into the motor area there was a few medium size pieces but but most of it was like gritty dust , the pieces that i could pickup just crumbled in my fingers. It took me better than an hour to pick all that crap out of the motor and I am worried some of it got into the carb! Will that hurt the motor , and should I scrape off the remaining insulation to keep the same thing from happening to it? Or will painting the foam with spray paint give it enough of a crusty texture to keep it in place?

thnx
mark
