My drive way cubic yards

My Driveway is 88ft long and 18ft wide. At 4 inches thick, how many yards of concrete is that?

Let's see: 88' x 18' .333' = 527.5 cu ft. At 27cu ft per yard, that's 19.5 cu yds. Right on, JRJ. Nathan, I believe I'd consider 6' thick myself in case you move a heavy load or big truck over the driveway someday. 4" is pretty much a minimum. That's 29.3 yds fot the 6" drive.

Well I was was gonna put the new drive on SB-2 base that was 6" thick and the concrete was gonna be reinforced with 3/8" rebar and fiber in the concrete. <br /><br />I think that is overkill myself, but I dont want it to crack.

The base preparation is all important.<br />If it is not compacted then you will get cracks in time.<br />I have done a driveway recently at our beach home, 1750 sq ft. 5 inches thick, no rebar, 17.5 mpa strength and one continuous pour.<br />2 days later it was cut with diamond saw to 1/2 thickness for control joints to allow movement.<br />Perfect job.<br /><br />Regards<br /><br />Peter
