Just thought I would share with the community. I just love looking at pics of old motors.

I picked up a 30hp 1956 Big Twin (pictured to the right) today ("Ran last time it was started") for $50 it came with gas tank and controls (good and working). Not sure if it was a good purchase. The pull start is pieces (not all pieces are there), and something is missing on the intake. Also has several of the cast aluminum pieces broke, like the transom bolts and corner of the transom plate.

The one on the left is my 15hp Fastwin.

Let me know what you think.

Re: My Evinrudes

I love old motor pics as well. Especially Evinrudes. If I couldn't run a Rude on my boat I'd use oars....LOL.

You got a good deal. Parts are still available. Vintage motors like yours last almost forever if treated right.

So you want pics?

My Big Twin is a 1953. With new coils, carb kit, impeller, paint and decals I have about $400 into her and she runs like a top. The twins are 1919 and 1923 Model A, but don't ask what they cost. There are 21 more Rudes in the boathousae, but they don't all fit in one picture.

Have fun fixin them up.
