My first 4 stroke and problems with fuel

Just brought a 2006 mer 4 stroke bigfoot with efi-------wont run at 2000 rpms at all---------Fuel looks great with no water----i tried testing the top of the vapor sepator plug wires with a test lite---cant get any power there--fueses all good---un plug there and cut switch on and plug it back in--cant here the pump running at all---should i get 12 volts at the plug with my test lite??? if so where should i look for the no power??? Also what is the plug in the front near the flywheel thats says teramotor on it for??? thanks

It could be in limp-home mode? Just get a Mercury Technician to plug the diagnostic computer in, that will reveal everything, including hours use and at what RPM.

on muffs it will rev up to 4000 rpms but when i come down to about 2000 rpms it dies---idles fine---but still i dont here the pump running or when i press the tire valve on the vapor seperator i get no pressure comong out..

OK, get it checked, it can be done on the boat in the water. The computer is portable.

i am 100 miles from a lake or a mercury dealer........Shouldnt i here the pump running after i re plug the wires back in??
