Nope you don't need to trash can your boat, it can be fixed. You can fix it with the same materials you're going to use for installing the stringers. Polyester resin, CSM and cloth (1708 is popular here). The bulk of the repair will be on the inside but some outside will be necessary too.

Pictures would really be a great help here.

Really? Guess just the difference in the areas. the .75 and 1.5 are very common here. Now the 2 oz has to be ordered but still available.

Re: My floor needs repair ( Pictures of Cut )

I think I just spent more time looking for the same repair that was done not too long ago than to just answer in the first place LOL ..

It does not look all that bad from your pics ( would like some outside shots too though ;) ).

1. Grind/scuff the glass with 24 or 36 grit on the inside for glass.
2. Die Grind the cut to bevel that hard edge away.
3. Skim fill the cut with Cabosil/fiberglass ( mohair ).
4. Apply 1 layer of 1.5 oz mat followed by 3 layers of 1708 .. and top it off with 1.5 oz mat.

Done with the inside ..

Outside ..

1. Grind/bevel cut area about 2-3" around the cut ( totaling about 4-6" of grind/bevel and deep enough to glass with about 3-4 layers of 1.5 oz mat )
2. Apply 1.5 oz mat until the bevel has been filled.
3. Grind/fill and fair ( smooth it out as best you can ).
4. Apply Gel Sand and polish.

Done with the outside..

Of course there are some side steps on how to apply glass and gelcoat and finishing. But this post is not meant to be a full blown tutorial :) .

Lets take this step by step ( and others could chime in for a different way ).

Keep us posted and any questions just ask..

YD.

Edit .. Polyester is fine..

Bevel is grinding deeper at your cut area and slowly bevel ( feather ) to then outside edges of the repair.

Basically .. "V" grind from your repair outwards ..

Fix the cuts first so the stringers don't get in the way.

IMO YD is spot on, a cut all the way through when possible should be dealt with from both sides (interior and exterior)... Follow his glassing schedule and you'll be good as new (or better). After that then address the other work like WoodOG suggests... Personally I like the 1.5oz glass as it adds some strength and is fairly easy to wet out with resin...
