We took our granddaughters to Battle Creek for a weekend trip to Kelloggs, and a Water Park. Saturday evening while swimming in the motel indoor pool a young girl around 5 was in the pool and had drifted into the 5 area and began thrashing and crying. My 10 year old granddaughter Kayla immediately swam over to the girl, put her arm around the girls waist, and lead her to the shallow end steps. With near 25 people in the pool this 10 year old girl stepped up and prevented a possible tragedy. I have been proud of my kids from time to time, but this event will always top the list. What made it even more rewarding was this little 5 year old girl was of a different race. This proved without a doubt that color barriers are non existent to children.
