Woohoo! I've inherited money! Here's the text of the email telling me so:

I wish to notify you that late Engr. Jurgen Krugger made you
a beneficiary to his WILL. He left the sum of Thirty Million,
One Hundred Thousand Dollars (USD$30,100.000.00) to you in the
Codicil and last testament to his WILL.This may sound strange
and unbelievable to you, but it is real and true. Being a widely
traveled man, he must have been in contact with you in the past
or simply you were nominated to him by one of his numerous friends
abroad who wished you good.

All I need to do is contact the "lawyer" who sent me this at his email address!!

His YAHOO email address. I think I'd have better luck using the "scammer@nigeria.com" email address. I'm thinking about submitting the given email addresses to some "send me spam" lists... Let the spam roll to the scammers!

Don't forget about capital gains tax, you will only end up with 15,000,000.00 or so...

When my Uncle Buck died, he mentioned me in his will. He had nothing and left me half of that.:p

Re: My INHERITANCE FUNDS!

A few days back i saw on the news that someone got a e-mail that said that he was the beneficiary of someone Else's money. Well the guy thought it was a scam so he blocked the address and went on about his business. A few months later he learned that it was not a scam and he had a certain amount of time to respond to the e-mail or the unavailable phone calls he was not answering, to claim the money. Well he missed out on 1.5 million cause he thought it was a scam. THAT SUCKS!!! Sounds like my luck to be honest with you! LOL

Uh, sounds wrong. I would think that official documents, such as a contact document from a lawfirm, would come in the mail - certified, so that there is proof that it was received... This is yet another reason why I don't trust the emails about my inheritance, or the lawyer in Nigeria that wants me to put a bazillion dollars in my account, etc.

Now, if it was a contest, that would be another thing.

Re: My INHERITANCE FUNDS!

What a coincidence! Just yesterday I received a letter informing me that I had won 3-1/2 million US Dollars in the European lottery! All I have to do is call their contact person to verify a few minor bits of info and my money will be wired to my bank account. I'm looking forward to the extra pocket money as soon as I get enough free time to make the call!!
Man, this kind of luck hardly ever happens to me! :D

Hopefully I can plan things. I'll cash everything in, run up as many CC as possible, default and then head to the Chicken Ranch to shoot the wad leaving enough left to cart my remains back here for a Viking funeral.

Re: My INHERITANCE FUNDS!

I've Inherited more!! My email tells me so, again:

Dear Friend.

I am MANTA AUGUSTINE (Esq.) a Solicitor. I am the Personal Attorney to Mr. Fredrick Elwood, a national of your country, who is an oil merchant in Nigeria. On the 21st of April 2001, my client, his wife and their two children were involved in a car accident along Sagbama Express Road Balyasa State, here in Nigeria. All occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost their lives. Since then I have made several enquiries to locate any of my clients extended relatives, this has proving unsuccessful.

After these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to trace his relatives over the Internet, but of no avail, hence I mandated my secretary to search for any possible relative of my late clients in the Internet before the bank get the account confiscated or declared unserviceable, the bank where the deceased had an account valued at about USD7.5million (SEVEN MILLION FIVE HUNDREND THOUSAND DOLLARS) The bank has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have the account confiscated within the next 14 working days. I then decided to present you as the next of kin of the deceased since you are from the same country and bear the same surname. The said amount will be paid to you if you comply immediately with all the necessary documents of the deceased in my possession. Immediately the money is paid to you, 60 percent of the total amount will be for me, 30 percent for you, while the remaining 10 percent should be for expenses or taxation as your government may required

I have all the necessary legal documents that can be used to back up our claim. All I required from you is your honest co-operation and assistance to enable us sees this transaction through. I guarantee you that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. In other words, every document to affect this process will emanate from my table and I will perfect every document to be in accordance with the banking law and guidelines. So you have nothing to worry about, because we have all the legal documents to back it up when the fund is finally hits your chosen bank account.

Please be rest assured that this transaction is 100 percent risk-free. Note that the particular nature of your company's business is irrelevant to this transaction. If this proposal is acceptable by you, to assist me achieve this goal, please endeavor to contact me through my private email address {machambers001@hotmail.com} for more clarification and understanding in regards to this transaction.

Best regards,

BARR.MANTA AUGUSTINE (Esq.)

I'm not sure how they translated "Elwood" to my last name, but maybe the lettering changes a great deal when you translate from the english alphabet into the official language of Nigeria. Two characters do match, after all.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria#Language)
