I've got a 2006 1800 SR3 135HP 3.0L Merc and I love it!!!! I boat either in the Rehoboth Bay/Indian River in Delaware and I also boat on the Elk River/C&D Canal/North East River in MD.

Hang out at the "flats" a lot. Looking to do some more exploring.

I use two different props: a 4 blade 14x20 for my Maryland outings and a 3 blade 14.5x19 for the shallow stuff in Delaware.

This is my first "boat" (have had 2 waverunners). Bought it new last season and like everyone says "i want a bigger boat". Not really, but can't hurt to want:D

What's your experience with your maxum?

I just bought an 08 1800MX with the 3.0L and I love it. In fact, I need to get out of this chair and get on the water... :)

Hey Fellow Maxum Lovers............

Don't mean to jump a couple of feet here but the wife and moved up from a 1993 Bayliner 2655 to 2001 Maxum 3000SCR with Twin 5.0 L and Bravo II outdrives. We love our boat. All the nice things that the cabin has. A/C,micro wave, foward berth and a giant aft cabin for the junk storage. This boat was worth every penny I could come up to purchase it last spring. The Bravo II's are great for docking and moving about in tight corners. If ever you think you might what to move up to a 30 footer that make a great weekender boat the 3000 SCR is it. I don't have a genny on it and so far don't wish I did. I guess it would depend on your boating needs. So there you go, my 2 cents. The boss and I looked at alot of 30 footers and for the $$$$ Maxum was it!

Safe Boating

Roger:)

Hey jpg,

I have a 2000 Maxum 1800 SR3 4.3L 190hp. Bought it new to celebrate the new millenium. :) It's been a great boat - very reliable. Honestly, we exceed the max weight capacity nearly every time we use it, and that's been in some excessive heat (like 120 degrees F at Lake Mojave, California). I mean, we pull two tubes with at least 300 lbs. (two teens) on each and still have three adults in the boat (plus a cooler full of beer of course) in that kind of heat no problem.

You can also check out my review at http://www.epinions.com/reviews/Maxum_1800_SR_XR

Now that the boat's about eight years old, I'm thinking maybe it's a good time to move up - but I'll probably stick with a Maxum... we'll see!

Re: My Maxum Experience. What's Yours?

Hi - I'm a Newbie on here - first post.

I purchased a Maxum 2400 SC3 (first registered 2007) with the 5.7L 350 Magnum Mercruiser and Bravo 3 Leg. Bought it in November last year so obviously didn't get any use during winter (this is UK don't forget ;)) but she has now been de-winterised and we have been out three times so far.

Havn't had a boat for quite a number years (last one was a Sea Ray 180) and still getting the feel of things.

As for power and speed, not much to be said except "impressive". The only issues I have so far are the very high bow position while throttling up to get on the plane even with trim right down and, on just a couple of occasions, the boat has sat at cruising speed (30mph) with a very distinctive list to starboard even after completing weight corrections etc. Doesn't do it all the time though ??. Apart from that we are really happy so far except that the steerage is really crap at low speed but I seem to remember that was the same with the Sea Ray.

If anybody would like to comment or offer any advice/solutions, I would be very grateful :D
