This happened 20 years ago.My nephew. He is an avid fisherman, but a poor captain.
He and two other nephews were fishing the St.Clair river in the Detroit area.
They were anchored up fishing for walleye. They had short lined the anchor and it had caught. Every one knows you need to let out extra line when you anchor. The short rode bit him in the butt!!!
They had been fishing when a big military ship went past making a 5-6 ft surge wave. Well the wave went up and the boat stayed right where it was anchored.
Everyone went in the water the boat sank and all had a good swim.Luckily someone was close and pulled them out.The boat is still there somewhere along with everthing else. One nephew hasn't been on a boat since.Gotta be careful out there. Jerry
