I beleive you got yourself a Jupiter

I had a Nassua with a 80 and it would go 40+- which was TOOOOO fast for that boat.

What a nice boat and welcome. Looks like it has had some restoration work from seeing the stern, new bolts through the knee (see I am learning, ;) inside joke) and likely a new transom.

Should do well with the 70.

That barbecue is making my mouth water.

Need to buy a boot fot the splash well and run the cables thru it. Will give you a cleaner access to the back.(stern).

Nice rig, she looks to be in good shape:)

That 70hp is no good...I will take it off your hands tho:D:D

Seriously though...it should do about 35mph+ if she runs strong, is trimmed out perfectly and weight is balanced.

Those shish kabobs are making me hungry;)

You have a very nice Jupiter there. That 70 is, in my opinion, the ideal motor for that boat. Great power-to-weight ratio.

Thankyou for your kind commets

I am the trird owner of the boat
the guy i bought it from got it from his grandfather the origanal owner she came with a 60hp mercury new but it was replaced with a 40hp mariner in 1984 that runs really good just not fast enough cant wait to try out the 70
he did all the work to it 10 years ago i will say he did a pretty good job
next season i think i will do a complete repaint

I just repowered my Jupiter with a 1981 70 Johnson and got a boot to bring the cables thru on the side. Not sure why the Jupiter had only a center hole to stuff everything thru, but the side boot was a great idea.My prop is 13 1/ 4 x 17,have not yet taken my gps out yet so I can,t tell you how fast it is,but I think the bare boat weighs about 675 lbs.I know got to change my avatar! Cheers Mike
