Hello, I am new to the forums. I recently purchased what I believe to be a 1960's?? 16' Alumacraft semi-V. It looks very similiar to the guys on here that has the monster 40hp merc bolted to it. I will post pics soon and would love any info anyone has on the boat. It has been painted but I plan to strip that off as soon as possible. This is my first Alumacraft and first aluminum boat for that matter. So far it seems like its gonna be a great boat to restore. It has no leaks and I fish it nearly every day so for $300 bucks I am happy!

02WJLaredo, Welcome to iboats.

I'm the guy with the 40 hp on and if yours is like my 14 footer, you have their Aqueduct transom. Alumacraft was the first with it and they say they have never had a transom failure. The boats round (soft) chine gives it amazing performance and these boats are so easy to use and not to maintain, you want to use them everyday. I bought mine new and is now 39 years old and will never be sold.

I also have a 14 footer with a 1967 40 hp Evenrude Lark VI. I have never seen another one like mine, and would love to see some pics of yours. Click the link below to see pics of mine that are a few years old. I do have the windshield, I just have'nt put it back on yet.

Your boat is Tampico II? It looks in great shape!

My boat is a simple 1968 14' FD utility.

Here's some pics of mine.

Yes it is a Tampico II. About 10 years ago I paid $100 for boat, motor, and trailer. It had been sitting in one spot for so long, I had to cut some small oak trees that had grown up through the trailer. I brought it home, replaced the voltage regulator, replaced all of the seals in the lower gear unit, installled a new battery, hooked up a fresh tank of gas, and the 1967 40hp Evenrude Lark VI has been running like new every since.
