Hey everybody,

I recently purchased a 1990 Bayliner Cobra with the 150 force outboard. It is black and silver with red highlights. I want this boat to be the coolest thing on the swamp outfitted for wake boarding, skiing, tubing, etc. I want to trick this baby out with a few accessories that I need some information about. The first thing I want to do is change the boring and conventional "circle" gauges to the 86'-89' square faced "Star Wars" gauges. Does anybody have these or know of a place I get them? The tach has to be for a two stroke motor. The next thing is a wake tower. The cheapest I can find is $600. Where can I find a good price for one of these that will fit on my cobra? The next toy I want for this boat is a sound system. Does anybody have a system they want to get rid of or know of a good place to get one. I have the boat speakers but not the sub and not the tower speakers. Also, I will need an amp or two to push everything and a new head unit so I can plug my ipod into it. I have found all this stuff on ebay, but I am wondering if there is a better market for consumers. I have heard mostly bad things about the integrity of marinas. I live in PA and marinas are mostly monopolies where I live. The last thing I need information about is the manual for this bayliner model... I can't find it anywhere! I would also like to have the manual for the motor as well. Any tips or advice would be super appreciated. I will try to get a pic or two of this boat up when I get it back from the mechanic who is "tuning" it to do 50 mph. Thanks all!

Try Great Lakes Skipper or eBay for gauges.

For the boat manual, call Bayliner at 360-435-5571. They should be able to e-mail you a .pdf file of it; have your HIN available when you call.

If you can't find an OEM manual for the motor, Clymer is probably your best bet.

Hey Neighbor!

You live near Blue Marsh 'swamp', right? :p
I'm about 30 miles south but do my boating mostly on the Chesapeake.
Congrats on the new toy!
I might suggest you make sure the hull is sound before spending too much green on accessories.
Can't help much with your search, but pics would be nice!

Re: My "New" Bayliner Cobra

Thanks for the phone #NYBo. Yes, arks, I do all of my boating on Blue Marsh. Aside from the strict gov. control, the swamp isn't that bad. Maybe one day when I have a yacht I will use the Chesapeake. If you happen to be on Blue Marsh and see a sleek black and red cobra with a sick tower and sound system with three dark haired bronze skinned teenage boys on board, drive on over to meet me and my brothers. We are just getting serious about boating so we could use plenty of advice on just about anything you can think of. Where to find fish, where to find patrol boats, and of course where to find girls. Happy boating!
