my new old boat with pics

finally got her picked up and cleaned out a little. She is a 1973 19' fibercraft duel console with a 1980 johnson 140. Here are some pics.

Here is a pics of some grey non skid paint in the bow for a test. Whatcha think? I had a gallon left over and thinking of doing the whole deck in it.

Have you put her in the water yet?

as far as we can tell, this boat is dry. Transom and floors are rock solid. If I look in the bow storage, I can see under the front of the deck.. there is no foam under the deck as far as I can see. So no soaking foam, but the old girl will go straight to the bottom if she ever gets swamped. I have a little issue with some spray foam in the bilge area from the last owner mounting a gas tank, but that should not be to hard to be resolved.

When are you testing it out? I think I'm going to be down at Clarke tomorrow evening possibly to provide tactical support for a friend testing out a repower.

ez, we already splashed her for about an hour yesterday eve. She ran great. Out of the water now to get some cleanup and a few repairs done, then back at it. My parents just bought a house at ocean city, nj. I think the old girl is going to get her feet wet there next.

well, that'd be a step ahead of what i had to sit on when i was a kid working at the resort up in mn. the resort supplied a ski boat for customers so they could water ski on a couple days a week (i was the ski boat driver)... it was an old glasspar that had been blown around in a bad windstorm. the boat was totally stripped. no windshield, no nothing inside it. i sat on a folded over mattress from a bed... it worked... fwiw. that was one of the best handling boats i've ever operated... + the thing would jump out of the water with only a 60hp johnson ob on it... it was a blast to drive. folded over mattress for seating or not...

Nice old boat Chad. I know you said that the deck, stringers and transom was solid...but...you should verify that with some drill samples just to be sure. I hope you have great sucess with it.
