Re: my new project

Just picked it up today. An early 70's 14' glassmaster side console. Solid floor, transom, and the motor runs. I payed $350.00 for it. Now to rip it apart and make it a center console. I'll take pics and ask alot of questions as I go.

great boat you have there,
many years ago i had a diving buddy who had one of those boats....

i always had a hard time getting back in his boat with all my dive gear, had to hand off the tank and the weight belt before getting back in....

my dive boat back then was a 14 foot boston whaler because it was the easiest to re-enter....

After ripping, tearing, and cleaning the boat out, the floors are not as good as I thought. Someone cut a 4x8 hole in the floor under the carpet. who knows why. The sections around it are soft. Not bad, but I think for peace of mind, the floor has to go. Don't want to do this again. At least, not to this boat. more pics coming later today.

so, your the one that cost me all the money. just kidding. I lubed the motor up and cleaned the carbs, fired right up. She needs tuned up, but not bad at all. I figured that the motor was shot when I bought it. What a suprise. Don't even need the motor, have a 96 60hp rude thats going on it. I will have to post some more pics soon.
